Powdercoat & Cerakote

Finishes built for real parts

xu customs applies powdercoat and Cerakote finishes to parts and projects. We help you see how the two differ so you can choose the coating that fits the job.

Two finishes

Powdercoat or Cerakote

Both finishes protect and style a surface, but they are different processes. Knowing the difference helps you match the finish to the part.

Powdercoat

A dry powder is applied to the part and cured with heat, forming a durable, even coating in a wide range of colors and textures.

Cerakote

A ceramic-based finish applied in thin layers, suited to parts where a precise, tough surface and a detailed look matter most.

Which fits you

Tell us the part, its use, and its exposure to heat and wear. We will point you toward the finish that suits it.

Choosing a finish

How the right finish gets chosen

Part use, heat resistance, and fitment decide the coating. A part that sees high heat or tight tolerances points one way; a part that needs broad color and even coverage points another.

OUR WORKFLOW

8-Step Precision Refurbishing

Our rigorous vertical process ensures every industrial metal part is stripped, inspected, treated, and finished to absolute perfection.

STEP 01

Inspect

Thorough visual and physical check of the part for damage or defects.

02. Strip

STEP 02

Strip

Removal of old paint, rust, or coatings using chemical or mechanical methods.

03. Degrease

STEP 03

Degrease

Deep cleaning to remove oils, greases, and contaminants.

04. Outgas

STEP 04

Outgas

Pre-heating the part to release trapped gases and ensure a smooth finish.

05. Sandblast

STEP 05

Sandblast

Abrasive blasting to create a perfect surface profile for coating adhesion.

06. Coat

STEP 06

Coat

Precision application of powder or ceramic coating.

07. Cure

STEP 07

Cure

Baking the part in a specialized oven to harden and bond the finish.

08. Final Inspection

STEP 08

Final Inspection

Quality assurance check to ensure the finish meets our high standards.
